The ex-con who shot U.S. Army vet Christopher Sanna after a Cardinals game last September, leaving him paralyzed, has pled guilty to four felony counts.
Kilwa Jones, 32, could face as much as 35 years in prison and $1 million in fines after pleading guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon while on federal property, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and two counts of robbery while on federal property and the charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The St. Louis man had targeted Sanna and his girlfriend as they left a game at Busch Stadium and were returning to their cars at the Old Cathedral. (The robberies and assault took place on Memorial Drive, which is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.)
When prosecutors first filed charges against Jones for the shooting, he was already in police custody — he'd been arrested a few days after the incident following a brutal attack on his ex-girlfriend.
