Governor Eric Greitens announced today that he's readying the Missouri Natio nal Guard in anticipation of possible protests related to a verdict in the murder trial of former St. Louis police Officer Jason Stockley.Greitens called the move a "necessary precaution,"in a news release.
"As Governor, I am committed to protecting everyone's constitutional right to protest peacefully while also protecting people's lives, homes and communities," Greitens says. "Taking the steps to put the Missouri National Guard on standby is a necessary precaution."'
