DMX may soon find himself behind bars thanks to a recent trip to St. Louis.
The "Party Up" rapper is currently out on bail on charges of tax evasion — to the tune of $1.7 million, according to the IRS — for which he first appeared in court on July 14. He faces fourteen tax fraud related charges and up to 44 years in prison if convicted.
Despite looking down the barrel of those rather serious accusations, Page Six reports that DMX (real name Earl Simmons) violated the terms of his bail when he visited St. Louis a few weeks ago without permission from the court.
Manhattan Federal Judge Jed Rakoff claimed on Wednesday that he got a report indicating that DMX “may have violated the terms of his pretrial release in numerous respects.” Radoff has ordered the rapper to appear before the court Friday afternoon for a bail hearing.
"He went to St. Louis without getting permission from the pretrial services officer," DMX's lawyer Murray Richman tells Billboard.…
