University City is considering a plan that would ban bicycles from the Delmar Loop — saying that the dangers posed by the trolley are simply too great for cyclists.Sinan Alpasan, the director of public works and parks for the municipality, tells Riverfront Times that the matter was first raised by the citizen-led Traffic Commission, which advises the University City Council on matters related to its roadways. The commission seems to have a consensus in favor of the ban, one that he says he shares.
