
A black person has a greater chance of being murdered in Missouri than any other state, according to a sobering new set of statistics.
The report, compiled by the nonprofit Violence Policy Center using unpublished 2014 data from the FBI's Supplementary Homicide Report, shows that the state's homicide victimization rate for black residents is the highest in the nation for the third straight year. (In the year before that, 2011, Missouri was No. 2 behind Nebraska.)
And this isn't a case of other states lowering their rates while Missouri stays stagnant.…
