Alderwoman Lyda Krewson won tonight's Democratic primary, squeaking out a victory over City Treasurer Tishaura Jones in a race that tightened as the night continued.Krewson won 32.04 percent of the vote to Jones' 30.38 percent. Only 888 votes separated the pair in tonight's final, but unofficial, results, which became public around 10:45 p.m.
Krewson now becomes the near-presumptive winner in the general election next month — St. Louis hasn't elected a Republican mayor since the 1940s.…
